Answer: Southeast Recreational Helicopters is a factory authorized dealer for the Mini-500 personal kit helicopter.
- Question: Where is Southeast Recreational Helicopters located?
Answer: Southeast Recreational Helicopters is located in the Jacksonville area of Florida's east coast.
- Question: What is a Mini-500 ?
Answer: The Mini-500 is a personal kit helicopter that you assemble yourself.
- Question: What does the kit come with?
Answer: The kit comes with everything you need including engine, rotorblades etc. The only thing you will need to add is paint and fluids.
- Question: Do you have to have any special skills to build a Mini-500 ?
Answer: No, anyone with average mechanical knowledge can build a Mini-500 .
- Question: How long does it take to build the Mini-500 ?
Answer: The Mini-500 can be assembled in as little as 60 hours, but a more realistic build time is about 120 hours.
- Question: Do I need a pilots license to fly a Mini-500 ?
Answer: Yes, the Mini-500 is a helicopter not an ultra-light so it does require a helicopter pilots license.
- Question: How do I register my aircraft with the FAA?
Answer: Simply call your nearest FAA office and request a packet on registering experimental
aircraft. All the forms and a complete set of instructions are included.
- Question: Can someone else build my aircraft?
Answer: Legally no. There are several builders assist programs available. You must be the primary builder in order for you to apply for the A & P license when you register your aircraft. You are supposed to build 51% of the kit yourself to satisfy the FAA. Joining a local FAA chapter will help, or you can get experienced builders to assist you for a fee. By doing everything correctly you will be able to do your own annuals.
- Question: What regulations are placed on experimental aircraft?
Answer: First of all you will have to fly a 25 mile radius for the first 40 hours. After that there are not many restrictions. You may not fly over densely populated areas unless going to and from your destination. You may charge for services in your experimental aircraft. Other than that the regular rules that govern helicopters there aren't many restrictions.
- Question: Where can I land a Mini-500 ?
Answer: You can land a helicopter anywhere you like as long as you have enough room to do so safely and have permission from the property owner. (Some cities have local ordinances pertaining to helicopter operations. Check your local laws)
- Question: What kind of fuel does the Mini-500 use?
Answer: The Mini-500 uses 91 octane automotive fuel available at any gas station. You don't have to go to an airport to get expensive aviation fuel.
- Question: How fast is the Mini-500 ?
Answer: Top cruise speed is 115 mph.
- Question: What kind of engine does the Mini-500 use?
Answer: The Mini-500 uses the proven Rotax 582, two cylinder, two stroke engine. This engine has been specially designed for aviation applications and has been used on hundreds of types of aircraft.
- Question: How much does the Mini-500 cost to operate?
Answer: The Mini-500 only costs about $10.00 per hour to operate.
- Question: How much does a Mini-500 cost to purchase?
Answer: The purchase price of the Mini-500 is only $28,850.
- Question: Is financing available for the Mini-500 ?
Answer: Yes, financing is available with as little as 10% down and terms of up to 20 years. Call for details.

- Question: How long does it take to get a Mini-500 ?
Answer: At the moment it is approximately 6-8 weeks and getting longer as the spring arrives
due to increase in sales over the summer.
- Question: What is required of the buyer.
IAnswer: In order to purchase the Mini-500 , a terms and agreement is signed between both
parties. You will have to understand that anything you ship to Revolution or receive from Revolution, you will have to pay shipping no matter what. You will be required to be proficient in a helicopter before you receive your tail rotor assembly. If married, your spouse will also have to sign the terms and agreement. This is a pretty standard agreement between experimental kit manufactures.
