ActiveX

Description:
ActiveX™ is a set of technologies from Microsoft that enables interactive content for the World Wide Web. With ActiveX, Web sites come alive using multimedia effects, interactive objects, and sophisticated applications that create a user experience comparable to that of high-quality CD-ROM titles.

Audio / Video

Description:
With increasing modem speed, audio has become a welcome and often useful way to enhanse static information in a web site. Audio can be in the form of dialog, news events, or music. When professionally edited for the Internet, audio can be very effective and with the proper compression downloaded fairly quickly. With the introduction of RealVideo it is likely that video will grow in popularity as it becomes more accessible through this new medium.

Description:

Frames

Description:
Introduced as an extension to Netscape 2.0, frames enable a browser to display more than one web page simultaneously. When used well, frames can be an effective way to enhance your web site. Popular uses of frames include having a navigational frame that allows visitors to move around a web site without leaving the main menu.

Description:

Description:

Description:

Description:

CGI

Description:
CGI (Common Gateway Interface) is a standard for the Internet that enables scripts (programs) to used in an very interactive way. Common uses for CGI include image maps, processing e-mail forms, chat rooms, password / registration forms, and collecting statistical information for web pages. Because CGI scripts can be created from several different programming languages they can be effectively designed to meet many custom applications.
